Our beliefs

Core Beliefs

The following are the core beliefs of Vertical Ministries based on the foundational truths taught in the bible. All of our teaching and ministry is rooted in and flows out of these biblical doctrines.

God

We believe that there is one God who exists in three co-equal and co-eternal persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is God. While on earth, Jesus was fully human and fully God at the same time. We hold that He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross, was buried, and rose from the dead to deal victoriously with the sin of man.

The Bible

We believe that the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and is without error in the original manuscripts. We hold that God moved men through the power of His Spirit to write His words to us. Because the Bible is God’s written Word, we are committed to teaching it and trusting it as the sufficient and authoritative guide for living.

Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is God. He convicts and regenerates unbelievers and indwells and fills believers so that we may live lives that honor and reflect Jesus Christ.

Salvation

We believe that all people were created in the image of God to enjoy intimate fellowship with Him. Because of sin, all have been alienated from God and are unable to repair this relationship by any human efforts. Because of God’s grace, we are able to experience a restored relationship with a perfect God solely through faith in who Jesus Christ is and what He has accomplished for us on the cross. We hold that salvation is a gift from God that cannot be earned or lost so all genuine believers can be assured that their salvation is secure for all of eternity.

The Church

The Church is meant to be the visible body of Christ, sent into the world to glorify God and proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Christian Life

We believe that Jesus Christ saves Christians to a new life. He has given each of us a new heart with desires to know Him and walk with Him in a growing relationship. As Christians, we make it our aim to please Him and represent Him everyday for the rest of our lives.
